Schmidt.

No matter what, this is still a conservative area. And it is a burned over political area after last year's presidential campaign. People are savvy to political stunts, and they know that a reserve officer fresh from battle shouldn't be trashing his commander in chief.

They also know that dems stand for taxes and abortion, and that Schmidt is truly opposed to both. In many ways, she's the postergirl for conservatism. And she's a nice person.

I received a taped message from ex-congressman Portman this afternoon reminding me to vote next week.

She will run away with Clermont, Brown, Adams, Scioto, Highland, Ross Counties. The other guy's hoping to win by controlling Cincinnati proper, but he forgets how conservative it still is: Catholic, Baptist, and patriotic.
