This Dem's comment calling Prez a "chickenhawk" really ticks me off.
President Bush DID serve bravely, perhaps as bravely as some soldier who commanded a civilian brigade, or whatever it was he did in Iraq.

There is no way to compare the bravery of most of the military. We give medals to those who are observed being brave at a particular time and place, but even that is subjective from unit to unit.
Hackett is flat out wrong for talking about his commander in chief the way he has. (I'm hoping he's resigned his commission, otherwise, I think his comments are a violation of the UCMJ.)
But, don't be misled. Civil Affairs is a tough, dangerous job involving direct work with any populations affected by any of our military efforts.
