Too soon to celebrate. Those are only the Absentee ballots. It may be a very long night.

Measure A has to win by at least 2/3 of the vote or the ACLU wins.

As long as Surfer hag doesn't get 50% of the vote, San Diego might be saved. But who are we rooting for if that happens? Sanders or Francis?

Seems like Frye's support is going down (doesn't matter of course. Just means that there will be a runoff), AND support for Prop A has gone up!

Well minutes, but yeah.

Get ready for the runoff, and the cross...looks like its saved! Unless the remaining precients go against it by a big margin...

This has gotta be some kind of a record, the mayor gets in trouble the first day in office???

Instead of election booths in SD, they need a drive through! LOL

Cool.

BTW, results are coming in pretty fast now! But they seem to be staying at where they are right now.

MAYOR - UNEXPIRED TERM
106 of 721 precincts – 14.7 percent
DONNA FRYE 44672 41.91%
JERRY SANDERS 29057 27.26%
STEVE FRANCIS 25126 23.57%

PROP A - Mt. Soledad Veteran Memorial Property (REQ 2/3)
106 of 721 precincts – 14.7 percent
YES 80014 76.54%
NO 24531 23.46%

So, as it stands, Sanders will be in the runoff with Frye, and the cross has been saved!

The lawyer for the annoyed athiest was foot stomping on TV tonight saying it doesn't matter if it passed with 100% because it'll be settled in the courts.

On CityTV, Prop A is up to 77% YES. Every little bit cannot hurt. I'm glad Frye didn't hit 50% but I can't say I'm overjoyed with Sanders. There was a reporter from the LATimes on KUSI 9/51 tonight bitching that San Diego is a failed experiment in minimal government and we should just raise taxes. I wanted to throttle him!

Pat Shea 3%, Richard Rider 2% and Myke Shelby 2% round out the top six of 11.

Great news on Prop. A. I mean, who is actually voting against it?

Wow! Basically saying the people's voice does not count! Talk about the tyranny of the minority right there!

Anyways, with 1/4 of the precents in...

MAYOR - UNEXPIRED TERM
181 of 721 precincts – 25.1 percent
DONNA FRYE 51192 41.94%
JERRY SANDERS 33205 27.20%
STEVE FRANCIS 29185 23.91%

PROP A - Mt. Soledad Veteran Memorial Property (REQ 2/3)
181 of 721 precincts – 25.1 percent
YES 92580 77.31%
NO 27167 22.69%

I'd say it's pretty much official now. Unless there is a massive change in the other 3/4ths. But I doubt it.
