I have NO intention of arguing with you about your definition of liberalism. You made some very good points.

But, I was somewhat amazed to see the Heritage Foundation AGREES with this new WH policy.

Are they liberal too?

No, they are libertarian. As am I, mostly.

The administration long ago lost the propaganda war, if by sounding softer, more collegial, they can gin up public support, well, I wish them luck.

I'v tried to wrap my head around the modern situation and the only explanation that even begins to answer all the questions is that the GOP leadership has moved, generally, to the left over the years (when was the last time someone mentioned cutting entitlements or, God forbid, doing away with some useless gov't entity?), while the Left has moved even further left (socialism, humanism, globalism, secularism), giving the impression that the center has moved right.

All my criticism of the political right, President Bush, his advisors and congresscritters pales in comparison to my disgust and loathing of the political and cultural left.
