I believe the feds "let you" carry up to $3000.00 cash. After that... they REALLY want to see exactly WHERE it cam from / checking / savings statements.
Otherwise, color it gone.
In the War on Drugs phase, they passed a law making it illegal to carry more than $10,000 in cash without documentation. Over that amount it can be seized as drug money.
