interesting... I have to wonder what it's doing to rubber fittings though.

in a 20 gal tank of gas - you end up adding about 2/3rd cup acetone......maybe $1.00 worth

acetone, at wal~mart costs ~$11.00 a gal. in the paint section.

yeah...plastic and acetone dont get along too well

Any rubber components that the fuel contacts should be resistant to the acetone added to the gasoline. There are materials in the gasoline itself that are much harsher on rubber, and the rubber compounds used are designed to resist these materials.
