Boulder Abortion Doctor Fires Back At Protestors
The Denver Channel ^

Posted on 07/26/2005 7:30:52 AM PDT by Millee

The head of the Boulder Abortion Clinic said that an anti-abortion group's neighborhood leaflet campaign is an effort to get him killed.

In a full-page ad published in local newspapers over the weekend, Dr. Warren Hern said the flyers, distributed by a group that calls itself Operation Save America, were designed to cause hate and fear and to get someone to kill him.

As proof, Hern points to other abortion doctors who have been killed after neighborhood flyers identified them.

The flyers labeled Hern a "baby killer" and were placed in the doors of a Boulder neighborhood.

"It's not freedom of speech," said Hern on Monday. "This is terrorism. The purpose of the flyers is to get somebody to kill me."

In his ad, he called the group fascist and said, "They would stop at nothing to impose their views on other people."

A member of Operation Save America disputed Hern's claim and said distribution of the leaflets in the neighborhood was not meant to intimidate Hern with the threat of violence.

"This is certainly not a threat of violence against abortionist Hern, but hopefully it is a wake-up call to him," Joseph Parente told the Colorado Daily newspaper.

The anti-abortion group held a convention in Denver that ended on Saturday. Members of the group, who signed pledges of non-violence, picketed women's health clinics in Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs.

"picketed women's health clinics"

Picketed what?

What kind of "health clinic" is it where there is a 50% patient mortality rate?

People who hide what they do which they know is wrong, always react this way when exposed.

Although this man is a murderer of the unborn, he is attempting to turn it around and paint the pro-life side in a negative way.

If what he's done is so bad that somebody should want to kill him on account of his exposure, then one would "think" that he would stop doing the thing which is so bad.

Exactly! he likes long hikes in the mountains, a good cabernet, Rockies baseball . . . there's so much more to him than just a suction machine and a pile of infant corpses.

"Dr." Hern is well-known for performing late-term abortions for out of state patients.

oh my...there are so many people who believe President Bush should be dead because what he's doing is wrong (sending Americans to die)...do you want him to stop? Yours is a truly dumb post.

Exactly when did fascism go from a political ideology that threatened the world to a word meaning "someone I don't like"?

In his ad, he called the group fascist and said, "They would stop at nothing to impose their views on other people."

Ah, yes, "impose their views on other people", that wonderful, focus group-tested, hackneyed liberal phrase. Rates right up there with their other snide comments, like "shoving blatz down our (throats, wazoos, whatever)". Like I guess being opposed to murder, robbery, rape, child abuse, treason, burglary, embezzlement, etc. is "imposing your views on others".

Hey, give the libs credit. They know their focus groups, and if slaughtering millions of unborn children every year is what is popular among focus groups, the libs will go with it, especially since it avoids "shoving down our throats" quaint notions like cherishing life, and having some sense of responsibility for one's actions when choosing to engage in activity that can lead to procreation. When one lives in a moral vacuum, relying on focus groups to define your morality is about the best you can do. Talk about fascist...

The pro-lifers are taking the battle into Boulder, a big college town and accordingly enemy territory. Good for them!

FRANK GANNON, P.I. P.I.: "Ah, now let's have a look at the damage.. [ looks around, taking notes ] Hmm.. ahh.. it's terrible. Well, you're lucky about one thing - at least whoever did his had the decency to leave the Baby Killer sign untouched."

DR. MCANDREWS: "Sign? What are you talking about, sign?"

FRANK GANNON, P.I. P.I.: "Well, you know, your sign that says what you do here at the clinic." [ points to "Baby Killers" graffiti on the wall ]

DR. MCANDREWS: "That isn't a sign! That's a criminal act! An outrage!"

FRANK GANNON, P.I. P.I.: "Well, you know, I admit that that.. "S" in "Killers" is a little crooked.. but, uh.. look - I'm not here to argue the asthetics of the sign. I'm here to solve a crime..."

...couldn't leave well enough alone without dragging the CINC into it eh? What's up with that?

I was trying to contrast the difference between people who actually know right from wrong, and those who don't.

But you obviously didn't "get it".

Many of these abortionists make seven figure incomes. In an extremely wealthy area like Boulder, with a huge University nearby, I would be surprised if this creep made less than $1 million per year.

The protesters must be having an effect on this dude's income. Hence the hystrionics.

You equate helpless infants still in the womb with grown men and women who FREELY CHOOSE to enlist and fight for their country - then accuse hiredhand of a dumb post??

Geesh!
