Personally I prefer the number not be publicized, else Mooolah Durbin and crazy Spector will demand human rights violation hearings.

If they could also capture an equal amount of paramilitary gang members within our own borders, on our soil, terrorizing the city of Los Angeles, for example (about 50,000) then we might be really getting somewhere as a nation.

Good start.

Six months ago they were saying there were only 20,000 insurgents in the country, now they're saying we've captured or killed more than twice that many. If the original figure had been correct, the insurgency would now be over.

Those numbers are much better than I thought.  I hope they are true or maybe a bit low!

I worked for both Keane and Killebrew. I'll go with Bob's assessment.

This is the liberal definition of "losing the war."

True or not, this quote likely will be used to support claims the US is out to wipe out all muslims by the arab press. That's not to say we should cater to the arab press, but we should keep an eye to what they may grab onto for propaganda purposes and do our best to minimize their honest material...that way they have only their lies.

U.S. and Iraqi forces have killed or arrested more than 50,000 Iraqi insurgents in the past seven months, a former top general who has headed repeated Pentagon assessment missions to Iraq said yesterday.

This is encouraging. The more dead or locked up terrorists there are, the better off we ALL are.
