Graf Prediction on GAO Comes True!

Congressman Kolbe responsible for 77% reduction in Border Patrol effectiveness.

(Tucson) – Randy Graf was proven to be correct again when he forecast the following in a press release, dated June 1, 2005: “Very shortly, the GAO (Government Accountability Office) will clearly report that permanent border checkpoints are in the nation’s best Homeland Security interest.” [Click Here.]

After a nine-month review of the border checkpoint situation, the GAO has issued a report (www.gao.gov/cgi-bin/getrpt?GAO-05-435 - July 22, 2005), concluding that not having a permanent checkpoint has reduced effectiveness in the Tucson Sector by 77 percent. The GAO study indicates that apprehensions in the Tucson Sector dropped after the Border Patrol began relocating or closing checkpoints on a regular basis, in 2002. The study states: “Three other sectors we visited that did not have to relocate or close checkpoints experienced no comparable decrease in apprehensions per agent work year during the same time period.”

While more criminals and contraband continue to pour over the border than in any other Border Patrol sector, Tucson is the only one of 20 sectors nationwide not permitted to set up permanent checkpoints. U.S. Representative Jim Kolbe (R-AZ) - through the House Appropriations Committee - is responsible for this ban.

“My campaign has caught fire at the grassroots level because Congressman Kolbe has become disassociated from his constituents,” Randy Graf said. “At town hall meetings in Arizona, Jim Kolbe proclaims his concern over our ‘failed immigration policies’ and ‘securing our nation.’ Then, he returns to Washington, D.C., and hamstrings the Border Patrol through appropriations, and offers us an amnesty program with Ted Kennedy. He has consistently blocked all legislation for permanent checkpoints, leaving us exposed to drug trafficking and terrorists.”

Even in the face of GAO data, Kolbe continues to insist that rotating checkpoints work. This is why the Graf for Congress campaign and its supporters are saying “it’s time for a change.” The campaign is pleased that its candidate, Randy Graf, continues to be correct in his assessments of the nation’s border security. In addition, his stance on limited government fits perfectly in line with that of most citizens of southern Arizona.

Although most communities with interior checkpoints reported drops in crime and vandalism, the GAO noted there were quality-of-life concerns from Tubac area residents, regarding the checkpoint location. A specific location for the Tucson Sector checkpoint is not currently in the GAO recommendations. The Graf campaign contends that the Border Patrol Local 2544 Union’s disdain for Congressman Kolbe makes Graf far more likely to be heard, regarding permanent positioning of the checkpoints.

This may be the issue that ultimately brings down that RINO, Kolbe . That would be good news for Arizona.

Kolbe knows what he is doing. He is the reliable servant of the banking and finance community. One aspect of the globalization project this group is dedicated to is erasing national borders. One of the most significant ways to effect this goal is to encourage unlimited mass immigration so that the native population can simply be outvoted and overwhelmed by the combination of groups favoring de facto denationalization. It is ironic that much of the GOP establishment is quietly supporting the liquidation of national boundaries. The GOP was the nationalist party par excellant, its determination to not permit at will secession in 1861 and its nationalizing economic policies in the 19th century created the infrastructure of the the American superpower. Now the same party leadership in alliance with much of the financial and industrial elite are quietly but very deliberately through such initiatives as CAFTA, sabotaging any effective legislative steps to control immigration, and supporting unlimited third world immigration and disguised amnesties for illegals supporting the denationalization of the US and subsuming it into some sort of globalized economic, and eventually political order.
Money and the lust for it does indeed trump all other considerations among this group. For normal middle class Americans the prospects of being turned into a species of denationalized serfs and helots is very real.

Saw the GAO report synopsized in the local paper two or three days ago, and the headline was the opposite of the article. Of course, the headline made Kolbe look good...

Are there any Freepers from Arizona? They should do anything they can to help Randy Graf win the primary. Jim Kolbe's personal life is his own business, but undermining national sovereignty is a betrayal of the public trust.

"Jim Kolbe's personal life is his own business, but undermining national sovereignty is a betrayal of the public trust."

And of course, his position on border checkpoints is but one aspect of his betrayal of conservative principles. Kolbe is 100% in favor of abortion, going as far as voting against the partial-birth abortion ban. And Kolbe is in favor of gay marriage and other special rights for gays.

If Kolbe was a conservative Republican who just happened to be gay, then conservatives would support him. But he's a liberal who is now hiding behind his sexual orientation so as to call conservatives "intolerant."

"RANDY GRAF FOR CONGRESS!"

I second the motion. It's a shame that Graf could not muster enough support in the 2004 primary to kick Kolbe to the curb---hopefully he'll have better luck in 2006.

And for those who are worried that if Graf beats Kolbe the Democrats will pick up the seat, keep in mind that President Bush got 53% of the vote in the district in 2004, so it's not as if the district's voters aren't willing to vote for pro-life, pro-family conservatives.
