Turley isn't a liar, and he wouldn't have misquoted Durbin.I had the good fortune to spend a long evening talking one-on-one with Turley about 10 years ago. My impression was that he's a straight shooter.

Professor Turley cited unnamed sources saying that Judge Roberts had told Mr. Durbin he would recuse himself from cases involving abortion, the death penalty or other subjects where Catholic teaching and civil law can clash.
Remind me again what the point is in having deeply held beliefs if you refuse to act on them? What would St. Thomas More make of this alleged statement of Roberts?
