My uncle walked me through where the camps had been once. The walls of the stone chapel the Italians had built were still there (a nice piece of work).
The German POW cemetary was still there (late 70's) which surprised me. I noticed it was well maintained also.
I know the author of this piece is trying to make a point but it's too far off base for me. From what I've heard Hitler's book wouldn't have been that well received in most of the camps.
