This was about "pretty" not "effective."
For a ground-pounder, the support air was no-question fabulous! And the A10 (our current G/S monster) is absolutely beautiful! From any perspective.
I started with the premise the F15 was so beautiful -- like an an angel with a swan's gracefulness.
If my big ol' ugly butt could fly and save the life of one infantry man, I would happily do so! And I guarantee that would be the ugliest thing to ever reach the sky. But infantry support is the most important function of all aspects of military engagement.

I really liked the way the B-29 looked.
If I hadn't seen it before, when someone would have said bomber, that is close to what I would have thought of.
