I think you have to look at the time frames.
Four of the top 8 shows are on in the 6AM time slot.
At 6 PM, the only shows rated are Levin with 74.3K, Savage 60.9K and Randy Rhodes 42.3K.
Listeners for all stations drop off after the 9AM time frame, pick back up in the afternoon and drop off again at 6PM.

Just wanted to say goodbye to all you "conservatives", bushbots, and republicans who posted negative comments about Savage. I will now leave FR and will not return.
Well, savage is a bit of a raving nutter. I can't listen to him, as he does not make any sense most of the time.
Franken and Savage... 16th and 17th...
Both nutcases near the bottom of the heap. My respect for New Yorkers just increased.
ROTFLMAOPIMP!
Savage is so far out there these days that this doesn't suprise me in the least.
The more interesting story is who Franken can't beat. And by how much.
New York City? LOL!
Non-story
New York?
I'm more interested in a nationwide list.
John Gambling beats Grant? Gambling is the most boring talk host in radio history.
Does anyone remember that Michael Savage has only been on WOR for less than a year, with absolutely no supporting print advertising. WABC and Air America blanket the city with ads. And Rush and Sean have been on WABC for years. Savage's numbers will improve greatly with age.
Savage is going up against Levin in that time slot. Who would YOU prefer to listen to?
a race between whackjobs? it'll be neck and neck...
Thought comparison should be based upon same hours of broadcast.
1) Howard Stern WXRK/6-10 a.m. 237,000
KOAM
Good...Franken is less of an embarrassment for the liberals than Savage is for us.
I hope he KILLS him in the ratings to the point that he's taken off the air.
Savage is our Michael Moore.
Everytime I try to listen to Savage, it gets tiring very quickly.
He's so angry. Way too angry for me.
There is SOME good in the world.
Two points:
1) Conservatives are obviously still dominant (Rush, Hannity, O'Reilly, Levin)
2) These figures obviously combine time slots, so you can't really compare apples-to-apples to get a share figure.
LNGOP'r
The fact that Stern is number one proves how effed up people are.
Franken beats Savage. :-) I'm not surprised. I just heard Savage say democrats were just like Repoublicans - no real difference. Then he took a lady caller who was an obvious liberal shill saying Bush was bowing to the God of Halliburton and corporations. Savage while not agreeing with everything she said, said he agreed with some of it and kept going with the call. As I pulled into the garage I heard Savage say she was an intelligent lady who had a good grasp of the bigger picture.
Bottom line - Michael Savage is evidence that if you go too far right you might end up with the Naderites.
