These prosecutions of Fallaci are criminal in themselves. The Left often whines about the loss of freedom, but these so-called "hate" statutes are causing us all to lose our freedom of speech. This is one aspect of the game the Left always plays - free speech is for me (the Left) and not for you. Say something critical of Islam and you will be branded a "hater". It's ironic that I can walk into any bookstore in this country and pick up a copy of "Mein Kampf", or the latest hateful screed from, say, Michael Moore. But an important mind like Fallaci gets trashed by our self-appointed guardians of the public good.

Ping for an interesting article. An Italian of like-mind, writing against terrorism.

Just another Bush basher who doesn't believe him when he calls Islam a "Religion of Peace". /s

Probably doesn't find the hand holding charming either.

Anyone who hasn't yet read "The Rage and the Pride" should certainly do so, as well as this latest column. Fallaci is a strong voice of truth.

Many thanks for that translation. Fallaci was the darling of the left at one point for being this outspoken and is now shunned and literally prosecuted. Unbelievable.

I don't think she's going to be with us much longer, more's the pity. "Pious atheist?" Not so you'd notice. Stubborn skeptic, yes...

Yes, it‘s true: In newspapers that in the best of cases pharasaically opposed me with a conspiracy of silence now appear titles using my concepts and words.--“War Against the West.”; “Cult of Death”; “The Suicide of Europe”; Wake up, Italy! Wake up!“

Oriana Fallaci is a journalist who says that objectivity is not possible in journalism.

Whether they know it or not, American journalists have accepted this - that's why we see so much biased reporting today - but these same journalists also still insist they are being objective.

I'm pleased to see others here who know and respect her. God bless her, and many thanks for the translation.

Oriana Fallaci Nailed It!
Moral Clarity BUMP !

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of good stuff that is worthy attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.

Besides this one, I keep separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson, Orson Scott Card, David Warren and Lee Harris (sometimes). You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).

What a good woman she is....Oriana has more brains and stones than ninety percent of the male liberals screeching around about "dialogue" and "understanding"....

Thanks for the great post. I wonder how many Moslems, we allow to emigrate into the United States each year at this time. I think it is time to start talking about approaching zero.

Whatever one says about the problem of Moslems in our society, there is no doubt that it is much easier to keep them out than to deal with them once they are in.
