I also saw the Food Network show and was disgusted. My parents who came from Cuba in 1959 had to get up and leave. I called the Food Network and also e-mailed them. Also called a few of the companies that ran commercials during the show. I think they should know where their advertising dollars are going. The host
actually had the nerve to blame the U.S. for Cuba's "tough economic times"

I always find it extremely risible when critics blame the U.S. for Cuba's disastrous economy. They know full well that Cuba is free to trade with every other county in the world. It never dawns on their tiny minds that maybe socialism and a command economy might be causing Cuba's severe economic woes.

A communist economy is the perfect prescription for countries who want to immediately plunge their nation into poverty. It's worked that way everywhere it's been tried. Everyone will be equal...equally miserable. Oh, of course except for the communistas themselves who live well above the masses. Like comrade Fidel who is reputed to be worth several billion dollars.
