As the saying goes, opinions are like [bellybuttons] --everybody has one. But not everybody claims to have special knowledge or expertise. Yes, I think there are several plausible theories out there. It could be Joran who did something to her. It could be Deepak. It could be someone else entirely, about whom we know nothing.
Do you think it's possible that Joran had anything to do with her disappearance?
Of course it's possible. I've never seen anybody here post that it's flat out NOT possible.
What direction do you think the investigation should go if we discount involvement by Joran and the Kalpoe brothers?
I wouldn't go so far as to "discount involvement by Joran and the Kalpoe brothers." Obviously there is legitimate suspicion focused on all three.
However, as I've said for weeks, I think it's a mistake to be obsessively focused on Joran and the Kalpoes, to the exclusion of other investigation into, say, kidnapping and sex slavery scenarios, possibly in other locations (such as other islands or the continent of South America).
Or do you think the Kalpoes could be involved without Joran?
Someone earlier posted a link to Dan Riehl's site, where Dan seems to be pointing the finger of suspicion at the Deepak (and, paints a very different portrayal of Joran than the demonic picture we've been getting here).
I don't put any more stock in what Dan Riehl is posting now, than in what he posted earlier. Almost all of the stories we've gotten are anonymously sourced.
And I don't see why we should necessarily believe one set of anonymous tales over another, until we see evidence giving credibility to one and discrediting the other.
IOW, my posts don't take a hard stand, insisting on one theory over another -- because I don't think we have nearly enough credible evidence to do that.

I believe that there is a lot we don't know. For some reason, Joran is still being held. Could be something big, or merely the fact that he kept changing his story. Natalees family seem to have no doubt that he is involved. And I'm sure that they know more than they are saying in public.
