My fiancee is a Delta Pilot, and former F-15 Air Force Pilot. He is also a diver. He gave up his vacation to go to Aruba to help search for Natalee. He was there 9 days, and he lost 17 pounds, barely sleeping, and not being able to eat. He fell in love with the Aruban people. I decided not to take my vacation, and donated the money I had sat aside to the Equa Search Team. I am only telling you this because I have had a lot to say here, but I also tried to help in a very small way.
We all know when we travel in a foreign country we are subject to its laws. I don't have a right to have a problem with the Aruban System.
I have a problem with people within that system who blew it. Before anyone jumps in here to say that 11 days didn't matter, I am telling you that it did. Those 11 days cost Beth Twitty the small comfort of taking her precious daughter home, and had America not been watching, I hate to think what would have happened to the security guards.
Yep, those 11 days were crucial.
If you fear what could have happened to the security guards if the US wasn't watching, sounds like you DO have a problem with the Aruban system, at least their police department and justice system. To imagine them being railroaded to pay for this crime gives me chills. I never thought of it. You and your fiance have my praise for the help you gave the Twitty/Holloway families. That was super!
