Earlier reports said that, if a body were thrown in the water on the West side of the island, the tides would take it out to sea. Which is it?

Depends on how far out the body is dumped. 300 yards out to sea and the sea will take it away. 50 yards off the coast and it washed back in. They needed a boat.

Croes was talking about the north side of the island.

He also suggested that if a body had been thrown into the waters of Boca Tortuga, the body would come straight back to the shore. “We don’t have shark infested waters around Aruba, but if there was a shark attack, again evidence would be noticeable along the shoreline, everything comes back to the shore on the North Coast,” stated Croes.
