I only travel to the western caribbean now, and for the last 12 years it has been Cozumel.

We took a cruise to Cozumel on Carnival this past summer. I wasn't impressed with anything there except the clarity of the water. The cruise back to Miami took 6 days as we had to circle off the coast of Cuba to avoid the hurricane.

That's because you were on a cruise and they let you out on the island for 10 to 12 hours and you probably went to the shops and downtown. It is an island that is 32 miles by 12 miles. The other side, east side is wild and beautiful. It would take a week just to get a taste of what the island has to offer. I'm sorry you didnt come a way with a better impression. Give it another chance. The Mayan people who have inhabited the island for centuries are easily the friendliest I have ever met and will gladly welcome you back.
