Was that Natalee's aunt or Robin Holloway?

I think both theophilusscribe.

Appears they are draining a "flooded field" very close to the Marriott where the K Bros. say they dropped Natalee & Joran off that morning. They are pumping out a tremendous amount of water per minute but say it will take until early tomorrow to get all the water out. This is based on an account from the "2nd new witness." Let's all hang on and pray that something positive comes out of all this terrible suspense and weeks of disappointment. I still have hopes that she is alive but things look very dark right now.

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - Authorities planned to pump water Tuesday from an area near a hotel where a new witness says he saw three men on the night the Natalee Holloway disappeared, NBC News reported.

There was no water in the area, near the Marriott Hotel, a few weeks ago. At that time it had already been searched by a Texas group with search dogs.

I absolutely cannot imagine the frustration Natalee's family must experience. That they are able to maintain their composure speaks volumes about what a lovely family they are.

good answer!

4 or 5 hours to drain the pond so it is shallow - area may have been dried up but mucky when he buried her there (shoes sucked off his feet by the muck or Deepak told Joran to get rid of the muddy shoes before Joran got into his car?) Now it is filled up due to the recent rainy weather.

Is she is in the mud and sand under the pond, then her body may be fairly preserved.

I guess the theory is that they exumed her at that point from the first location, and then moved her to a place that had already been searched.

her body may be fairly preserved.

Especially if it is a salt flat, as was reported upthread.

or the area they found was a grave in waiting, but that the area where he first buried her (if she is under this mass of water) was too to hot or it filled up with water before they had a chance to move her to the grave in waiting.

Or the "grave" they found wasn't really a grave or it was not a grave in waiting meant for Natalee.

I'm befuddled. It was dry? It looks like a lake now. Is it too shallow for divers? A canoe with a cadaver dog?

I understand that it is murky. Drainage from the landfill.
