That's true. I'll look into that, although I am retiring from the university, I would still get a chance to know folks here.

I, and many other Christians, believe God took His hand off of us for a moment and many innocent people died, then. Can you imagine what it will be like when He turns away from us? It can happen--abortion, murder, pedophilia, kidnapping of children for sex purposes (read Tsunami in December), same-sex marriage--the time is coming. America needs to repent and turn back to God. He'll do whatever is necessary to bring that about, even more 911's. They've been prophesied. We may see as many as 30 attacks at one time in our cities, and in the not-too-distant future. Time to repent and pray that this doesn't happen.

Civil enough thus far - let it so remain. There are also plenty of examples in G_d's Holy Word of Him having stayed his hand of judgment, or alternatively, refrained from removing his hand of blessing if you prefer.

Not least among these is Nineveh, which underwent the greatest revival recorded in scripture when everyone from the high King to the lowly stable mucking workers humbled themselves before their Lord in sackcloth and ashes, repented of their wickedness, and begged forgiveness.

Jonah, recall, was not amused. Rather he was angered because he did not understand the depth of the Father's mercy and capacity to forgive, thus there came to Jonah the vine for shelter, the withering of the same under a relentless hot, dry wind, and the object lesson.

I know not all on FR believe the same; I see each year of legalised medical murder since Roe v. Wade as a holocaust and an affront to G_d. There are other things in our American society/culture (and that of other western "Christian" nations as well) which I believe deeply offend Him as they do me. Just one example is the state sponsored celebration of homosexual perversity. But that is just one more example of sin at work in this world, rotting and decaying away the fundaments upon which we tread.

It is equally a fact that there are folk in the US and other countries who are standing (as best as they humanly can) for Biblical righteousness, and against the sinful and libertine behaviour which you (FB) and others decry.

This confrontation is clearly foretold in the Word. My belief and understanding is that both evil, and the righteousness of those who are reserving their place in G_d's kingdom, become more sharply pronounced in their contrast of absolutes as the endtimes of this earth draw to a crescendo in their prophetic expressions. That is what I see now without question.

The casualties/victims of the epic confrontation between the spiritual principalities could be accurately said to reflect the consequences of sin and its effect upon this world (IMO).

That the world still lives and breathes, and has neither been destroyed nor destroyed itself reflects nothing less than G_d's Providence and Mercy.

Pax Vobiscum, Pax Dominum, et Lux Aeterna

A.A.C.

He is known to have used His own enemies in the O.T. to punish even "the apple of His eye."

So 9/11 was a punishment from God?

Well, I see there is no shortage of those wanting to speak for God here, so let me have my turn.

God is calling upon us as a nation and as individuals to resist and expel Islam from our shores. If this can be done without material or personal injury or deaths, so much the better, and the sooner the better.

In all of our admonitions for America to repent, it is noted here that it is time for the followers of Islam to repent and forsake its false 'god' and its strange teachings or suffer world-wide extreme prejudice.

Well, I'm not betting the farm that we or Islam will do m uch repenting. I don't want God to judge America harshly, that's why I pray that He will have mercy on us. He judged Israel harshly for turning to strange gods and doing what He told them expressly NOT to do. We aren't any different. He loves us enough to turn us toward Him no matter what it takes. I believe God wants to break the back of Islam and that's why we're in Iraq right now. We thought WE had a purpose for being there but so did God. Prayer is one of the most effective if not THE most effective tool we have for fighting this battle. It's more spiritual than it is physical but we may have to do both.

"Well, I'm not betting the farm that we or Islam will do much repenting."

America does not need to repent. We are the injured party. It needs to sue and exact justice. Even if there were no God, common sense would demand it.

[ snip ]

"Prayer is one of the most effective if not THE most effective tool we have for fighting this battle. It's more spiritual than it is physical but we may have to do both."

That is wisdom. To do both, we will become the answer to our own prayers.

Thank you for your reply.

America doesn't need to repent for what happened on 911, it needs to repent for turning away from God and for our corporate sins against Him--abortion, pedophilia, same-sex marriages, pornography, killing of children and helpless, etc. Mxxx

I agree, but isn't that a topic for another thread? We're trying to stay focussed on eliminating the 'Hate-Filled Relgion' of Islam.

America's need to repent requires nothing more than removing the evil-doers from gummint. A task perhaps more difficult than a one-time trip to the polls. But as you will probably agree, it's kinda hard to drain the 'swamp' when the alligators are nipping at your knee-caps. Let's move the alligators out to a happier hunting ground and then we can purify the waters of gummint. As it is, our energies and priorities are divided.

Concerning personal 'sins', apart from the shortcomings of gummint, people tend to purify themselves when they are looking for change within themselves and can see examples of how they want to live and respond to life. Those examples, as we know, have always been before their eyes, but they have not eyes to see as yet. But thank God for His Amazing Grace.

AMEN. Time to become a Warrior for Christ and for America.

A.A.C. IS a warrior for America; I'd follow him into battle anytime. But he is not just a warrior for the Christians, he is also a warrior for the Jews; and we are grateful for that.

I find the idea that our sins caused God to allow 9/11 offensive. God gave us free will to make the choice between good and evil. Everyday we are faced with those choices; I think God is pleased when we choose to do good, and weeps when we choose evil.

But when it comes to 9/11--please, let's remember who did this and WHY!! It was not God, it was a group of islamists who despise America and her people--and they have no knowledge of the one True God.

So 9/11 was a punishment from God?

I think you are going to have to ask Him for an answer to that.
