Since he is now in custody of the suthorities there, if he does live he will wish he had not. Hopefully there's enough of him left for the police to properly torture.

Right. It will be hard to discern the marks made from the secret police and those inflected by the bomb. I can imagine some of the wounds will be slow in healing until all the information is extracted from him.
