I want to know whose signature is on the sign-off paper for the Wilson trip in the first place. That would answer alot of questions about who was behind this trip by the CIA, a trip at tax payers expensive of course.
As for Miller she is either protecting herself as the leak or protecting a Democrat guaranteed. The NYT is in the business of getting Bush impeached if they can help it...not protecting Rove.

An NBC statement last year said Russert did not know of Plame, wife of ex-ambassador Joseph Wilson, or that she worked at the CIA, and "he did not provide that information to Libby."

Yet we have this bit of reporting from John Poderetz

PLAMEGATE UPDATE [John Podhoretz]
Okay, this is getting complicated in exactly the way that attempting to study a tempest in a teapot is complicated -- because it's so small. Scooter Libby says he learned of Valerie Plame's identity from Tim Russert. Evidently, Russert told the special prosecutor he did not reveal Valerie Plame's name to Scooter Libby.

Russert and Miller might have the same snot nose state department democrat loving source (Joe Wilson Perhaps?), Or Russert learned it from Judith Miller.

I have mixed feelings about Fitzgerald. If he had an easy case, he would have indictments by now. So he's struggling to indict someone and is now looking at perjury. He will be a hero if he indicts a Bush administration figure. He'll be treated worse than Starr if he goes after a media type for perjury...he's after a Bush official. Let's see how this plays out.
    By the Numbers
  1. Who is more like the organized crime family Fitzgerald convicted before taking this position, the MSM or the WH ?
  2. Who is in jail right now ?
  3. Who has illegal sources in the agencies ?

Tis investigation may have the potential to answer the $64 question of why the intelligence was wrong on Iraq. If it does that, it will be worth the wait. Of course if you are satisfied with the idiotic answer, Bush lied, it will be a waste.

I think part of the reason that this Plame/Wilson case is definitely an offshoot of the Iraq intelligence issues. The CIA has taken a lot of heat. Some in the agency are not happy about it. We know there are plenty of Bush haters there. Some want payback. I think Wilson's trip was part of that.

I just don't know if Fitzgerald will get on that path. We'll see if he hints at it in his final report.

The memo was taken by Secretary of State Colin Powell aboard Air Force One during a trip to Africa in July 2003, and Fitzgerald has questioned White House aides about who saw it.

BINGO!!!

Who is the main honcho on Air Force One with whom the Secretary of State would share a secret memo..............that's right, the Big W.

The Prez inadvertently leaked the info to some reporter in a conversation and now everyone is doing a circle jerk so as not to embarrass the Prez ;-)

When did Wilson sign off on a nondisclosure agreement with the CIA? IT SEEMS HE DID NOT

Did he sign any kind of secrecy agreement? IT SEEMS HE DID NOT

I can't imagine the CIA hiring an 'investigator' or using a source and allow him to shoot his mouth off when he gets back from his supposed CIA assignment - unless they WANTED him to.

What was the paper trail in the CIA? Who signed his travel vouchers? Did he get paid? IT SEEMS HE DID NOT

Did he blend his assignment in with a business trip - and then write off all expenses as business expenses? (Hellooooo IRS!) Who OK'd his expenses?

Why didn't the CIA require a written report from Wilson upon his return - unless they did NOT WANT ONE in the first place.

Does the CIA usually debrief a 'source' in his home in the presence of his wife? Does this set the stage for 'plausible deniability' since there is no paper trail? Maybe all he said was that he had sweet tea with some dignitaries, was in the men's room when yellowcake was discussed, and flew home. Without a written report or even contemporaneous notes from his trip - NO ONE KNOWS specifically what he said in his CIA debriefing - and he can say whatever he wants about it now.

What is the relationship, if any, between the Wilsons, the Coopers, - including the lovely Mandy - Judith Miller and the Kerry campaign? There must be some dots here...

In any case, the term "Democrat Operative" MUST be attached to the Wilsons whenever they are referenced. All of this was to help the Kerry campaign and defeat and befuddle GWB.
