ISRAELIS WERE mystified when initially the TSA altogether instructed passengers not to lock their luggage. They couldn't understand why, if bags raise suspicion, their owners couldn't be paged and asked to unlock them, since "seeing the owners, chatting them up and posing key questions could indicate how cautiously their belongings should be considered."
Common sense, it'll never happen.
I remember on my final flight home from Qatar, the TSA decided to inspect my bags at Dulles for some unknown reason and then proceeded to break the handle and one of the clamps. So they TAPED it shut.
The bastids....
A few young male islamofascist terrorists act up and 300 million U.S. citizens get punished by their own government. Makes sense to me.
SARAH HONIG sounds like a real *itch.
"their owners couldn't be paged and asked to unlock them, since "seeing the owners, chatting them up and posing key questions could indicate how cautiously their belongings should be considered."
Not common sense. It would take so long to wait for travelers to show up after being paged and then take the additional time to shoot the breeze with the passengers that it would foul up the entire air transportation system and it would cost even more money than it already costs to pay for the additional baggage inspectors.
Poor baby!
Watch your luggage while its being searched and then lock it up. That's what I do.
I returned to LAX last September and opened my bags. There was some sandy like material in my clothes which was NOT there when I packed it. Then I found a torn off fingernail in there. Because it was inside the bag, it was likely TSA and NOT the baggage handlers.
Exactly. We are only marginally safer than we were on 9/10. And, IMO, most of that added safety comes from the flying public being aware of the situation.
TSA is a humorless joke.
let's see here, the TSA tape holding it shut...
The TSA tape holding the handle on the actually case...
the TSA paper side of the trunk....
nahh I don't think it was TSA :)
Not really. Just one of those silly folks who believe that it is a fundamental right in a free society for people to be able to peaceably travel from place to place without being interfered with or impeded by govt. agents.
Incorrect. When you decide to fly, you decide to waive that right.
Probably a JAP with an Israeli passport.
TSA- Thousands of Stupid Assholes.
Checked luggage is inspected once you've already turned it over, at least in the airports through which I've flown.
What's your problem, newbie? You work for the TSA or something?
Probably a re-tread. Awfully argumentative ain't it?
