You nailed it.
They scummy Imams wasted no time in lamenting the tragedy.
It takes the heat of them and puts it on the cops, when in actuality, the media should tell the Imams to thin out their herds of murderers and this won't happen again.

Update to my previous post:

"Mr Menezes' cousin Mr Pereira said the 27-year-old was from the city of Gonzaga in Minas Gerais state, and had lived in London legally for at least three years and spoke excellent English."

Apparently worked as an electrician. Curiouser and curiouser...

The Brazilian killed himself.

"It was a kind of "suicide by cop".

I agree.

Or he could have been deaf or listening to music. The police don't seem to say that the guy KNEW he was being followed.

And WHY let a potential bomber, being followed, into the subway in the first place? Clearly, he could have been stopped when he left his apartment, or anytime before he entered the subway. This alone is a royal screw-up!

The "shoot-to-kill" zone needs to be move above ground. If a suicide bomber makes it 10 steps or more down the subway steps, he has won the battle. The searches need to be at the subway entrances - ABOVE GROUND!

One more point. British subway riders, already worried about being blown up by devout sex fiends (they must be - who else would want 72 virgins), now have to worry about being shot by police.

I'll bet hearing aid battery sales have skyrocketed, while turnstile jumping is way down!

Damn! It must be like a funeral home (quiet) underground!

Don't take offense at my words, Brits. I am with you 100%. I just want to see dead jihadis, lots of them, not dead innocents.

As I posted – “I’ve only read the initial reports (for what they’re worth).”

Canard is correct he is legally there and employed as an Electrician and does speak English very well. Its not clear why he was at an apartment that was under surveillance or why he ran from the Police. The original report says that a uniform officer was instructed to try to halt him at the turnstile and when he tried and the undercover Officers came up from behind and identified themselves he bolted for the train. Very odd.

That's suicidal behaviour. No wonder the lads opened fire.

Your suggestion is poor to say the least. And how do you know that the public as a whole thinks Scotland Yard is full of incompetents? That's only your feeling on the matter. It's doesn't make it so.

And your views aren't based on your "feelings" but rather pure logic and therefore true and beyond criticism.

The only thing that makes Scotland Yard's agents less laughable than Inspector Clouseau is that theirs have real guns.

There is no doubt he heard the police or else he wouldn't have run.

The police in uniforms in London don't carry guns. These were plain clothes agents with guns. How is a guy going to work supposed to know these are really police? The guy panicked out of fear.

The radical Muslim clerics in London are free to preach death to the infidel, so maybe the police should be pointing their guns at Muslim preachers instead. Preferably right at the back of their heads.

Well, it sucks for him that his eccentricities happen to correspond rather precisely to the terrorist modus operandi.

Well said. That pretty much sums up the situation.

"And your views aren't based on your "feelings" but rather pure logic and therefore true and beyond criticism."

Not really. My views are based mostly on 23 years worth of experience in dealing with Muslims of various sects and nationalities behind bars, not to mention the problems that this country has had with Muslim agents and military personnel who have a hard time separating their religious beliefs from their duties. It's my estimation that the lack of participation from Muslims in bringing these people to justice is twofold: first and foremost is that many are scared to death of reprisals from their own if they provide assistance, and second, a good number of them support the attacks. If you can't get them to speak out against the attacks, how are you supposed to recruit them to spy for you?

And a Sky News poll on the shoot-to-kill policy showed the last time I looked, that 75% of the British people support it. It doesn't look like a whole lot of Brits are laughing at their police.

Good question, although I suspect you know the answer. Ironically, "infiltration" was the excuse the Brits gave for giving terrorists safe haven in Britain. Instead of arresting them, they coddled them, so now innocent people will die in their stead.

Yes, that is exactly the problem. And people like "Red" Ken, the mayor of London, are still making excuses for radical Muslems.

The West had quite a few spies during the Cold War despite the threat of being carted off to a gulag someplace. You won't infiltrate if:

  1. You don't think there is a problem to begin with.
  2. You have your hands tied due to multicultural pieties.
  3. You are too busy sewing a diversity quilt to bother.

And a Sky News poll on the shoot-to-kill policy showed the last time I looked, that 75% of the British people support it. It doesn't look like a whole lot of Brits are laughing at their police.

As for your statistics, I would be part of the group that supports a shoot to kill policy. But that doesn't mean I support the keystone cops with big guns shooting electricians on their way to work. Scotland Yards' undercover operations are laughable, but no more laughable than what has been going on at the FBI and CIA for the past 15 years.

Great! I'm glad their sticking to their principles.

The death of Mr de Menezes is another death on the heads of the muslim terrorists.

I'm assuming the police id'd themselves. It was broad daylight and there were many people about. Had the scenario unfolded at night in a deserted station then I would agree with you that perhaps the victim had a reason to be suspicious.

On your second point I quite agree.

You are making an assumption that I am not ready to make. There are too many different versions of how the shooting took place. There are several contradictory versions in this article posted to FreeRepublic. Some of those "many people about" have a different account from the police.

My criticism isn't directed to the police who shot this guy, but rather it is to a government policy that allows extremist Muslims into the country. And then tries to deal with these consequences by shooting a guy when he runs to a subway train.
