We have one where I live, but it only runs during the summer. In the winter, you'd never be able to see the screen...(cars running to keep the people warm at 20 below would create quite a fog...).

Double features at the drive-in... especially good if it was monster movies. When I was a kid we had a blast! My father took me and my brother to see Psycho at the drive-in. I spent most of the time hiding behind the seat!

I can watch a movie and smoke a cigarette?

Yeah, I would do a drive-in.

Fiesta Drive-In, El Paso

Ahem. Yeah. You can go to the Fiesta, but last I knew, this was what you can expect:

Not exactly "family entertainment", but perhaps some West Texas freepers can confirm if this is still the case ;)

We were out for a late drive tonight (well Saturday now) to cool off and found one still open here in the Denver area. Not sure what movie was playing but we could see it clearly from the road. One of the movies on the billboard was the Wedding Crashers. I've heard that has some racy scenes--I would hate to be driving by with the kids if that is true.
