Stage 21 - Sunday, July 24: Corbeil-Essonnes - Paris Champs-Élysées, 144 km
Mainly a ceremonial dash into the capital, the final stage offers a chance for the sprinters to strut their stuff in front of the massive crowds lining the Champs Elysees - this was the case in 2003 as Baden Cooke and Robbie McEwen went shoulder-to-shoulder to fight out the final allocation of points. Boonen won this stage last year, and he should be back for more of the same this year. It's generally all over bar the shouting, but there'll be plenty of shouting no matter who takes their place on the top step of the podium, and with plenty of sunshine on the Champs Elysees, it'll be happy days in fair Paris.

Sensible. The roads are wet, and we've had ;a pair of wipeouts already.
Bad news for Levi; he'll still have to hold off Vino for all 8 laps - the sprint points will still be recorded.

It's starting to mist now at the Champs. Team Disco leads the peloton across the the finish line to stop the clock and freeze the top 4 (as long as they merely complete all 8 laps) The battles for 5th and the green jersey will, however, continue.

They've cancelled all the sprint points as the sun comes out.LOL

Getting back to crash #2 - Hincapie and Popovych both made it back to the peloton in time to join the rest of Team Disco across the finish line.
They've now cancelled the remaining sprint bonuses. The only thing left is the stage and the green jersey.

Actually, it's the time bonuses that have been cancelled. The points themselves will still be awarded.

Even though he is not on the "right" team, he is an American!

Nobody told Vino it's over; he's still attacking.
We're into the third lap now. Several riders in the lead wiped out.

It's all about that last yellow jersey.
To: SouthTexas
I thought there was no racing back to the yellow...oh wait, that's NASCAR.

The subtle "French" differences. Racing FOR the yellow, now TO the yellow.

I seem to have the bad keyboard disease!
To: SouthTexas
Well, with Lance around the last 7 years, there was no racing back to the yellow either :-)
