I may be a fish taking the bait, but is it any worse than an ostrich hiding his head in the sand over bad news? We know what is in them. Those responsible have been or are in the process of being prosecuted. Who's hiding in the sand?

I would say that a whole lot of other countries cover up a lot of nasty little secrets. I suspect that few french citizens know about their soldiers opening fire on an unarmed crowd of civilians in the Ivory Coast a while back. In Somalia a Belgian and a Canadian soldier serving as UN peacekeepers burned a child to death by holding him over a fire. The Canadians convicted their soldier and sentenced him to some 20 years. I don't know if the Belgian has been convicted. (incidentally it might explain why the Somalis were so riled up)
This whole game of "look at what the USA does" makes a real good cover for a lot of atrocities committed by others including the oh so superior UN.
