If the images truly are that bad, I think they'd attract a lot more attention than if we simply refused to turn them over. They'd be used as propaganda by the islamo-fascists for years. Abu Ghraib wouldn't have had nearly the shelf life as a story without those pictures.

We can't put everything under the umbrella of "we are at war." I may not be the most Gung-Ho of cons out there, but I belive that blind devotion is akin to ignorance and homeland (in)security.

We can't put everything under the umbrella of "war?" Well, we can certainly put *this* kind of thing under that umbrella. The pictures will do nothing but hurt our war effort. There will be time to air dirty laundry later on. But not now. Win the damned war first. And burn the pictures!
The soldiers responsible for the abuses at Abu Ghraib were charged for their crimes under articles of the UCMJ. This was clearly criminal activity. What exactly needs to be re-thought as to its acceptability?
Also, do you think that videos taken of the Abu Ghraib abuses would help the public understand anything else about them? In my opinion, these videos would just be picked up by the media and shown every half-hour. How would that help our cause in Iraq?
