Well, I've seen plenty of taxi stands in NYC where the Muslim drivers are "whipping out the prayer rug", somehow I don't find them all that threatening.
But I agree with your premise, and that's why I'm uncomfortable with the efforts to group all Muslims as one and the same.

sort of reminds me of queer nation/act-up stunts that remind us that they're here, they're queer, and they're in our face.
I do. I much prefer the smoking and drinking backsliding Muslims.
IMHO, the "devout" Muslims in the USA are the vanguard of the jihad, the scouts, the operators of safehouses.
