British Prime Minister Tony Blair has spent more than $3,000 of taxpayers' money on make-up and make-up artists over the past six years, it has emerged.
The figures were slipped out in a Parliamentary written answer on Thursday - the final day before MPs and peers broke for the summer as London was gripped by the latest attempted terror attacks.
It revealed that between 1999-2000 and 2004-05, Downing Street paid out £1,050.22 for cosmetics for the Prime Minister's media appearances. No figures were available before that date.
And in the past two years, No 10 shelled out a further £791.20 on make-up artists.
In the run-up to the May general election, many pundits noted that Blair had acquired a suspiciously orange glow.
The prime minister insisted he had merely picked up a tan while sitting in his garden during the less-than-tropical month of April.
This story sure isn't worth wading through a slew of pop-ups.
I have a pop-up blocker
So do I but, for some reason, on Drudge's site, it doesn't work.
How much does the BBC spend per year?
