We lost the support of historic allies when we retreated from Afganistan when we were on bin Laden's back porch, We had almost universal support when we were actively pursuing those that had shamefully invaded us on 9/11. We lost that support when we dumbfoundingly disengaged and insanely resumed operation Desert Sand.

Your thesis ignores a good many facts. It just so happens we were right to go into Iraq--Saddam had been supporting terrorists for years, including some of the ones responsible for 9/11. This has been documented both in the 9/11 report and in Stephen Hayes' book, "The Connection." (Also subsequent articles, many posted on Free Republic.)
Even without that particular evidence, the most cursory of glances at Grampa Dave's list of terrorist attacks should make it apparent to even the most dense of Freepers that they were on the attack long before we ever entered Iraq--even before the first Gulf war.

Ahem. You seem to be ignoring that the Senate Intelligence Report states that it is likely, based on multiple intelligence reports, that some of the 9/11 hijackers trained at Salmon Pak in Iraq.
Add to that the fact that Iraq had an alliance with Al Qaeda for weapons development and attacks against the West, and you have an explosive situation if not handled properly.
I'm rather thinking that you may well be one of those freepers who would be complaining if we get attacked again that we didn't handle Iraq in a timely fashion.

In fact Afghanistan was only a small part of 911, In fact we should have gone to saudi Arabia, but their oil saved them. We did the next best thing and remember even Bill Clinton Democrats at one time believed in WMD.
