When was Firefly on before?

why can't I see Star Trek (in any incarnation--but especially TOS or TNG) on local channels anymore? last time Star Trek was on locally was when DS9 was still on... TNG used to be on at 9 on the local fox station, TOS at 10, and even had the animated series on weekends before cartoons....

My wife and I refer to some movies as having "Sci Fi Channel production values." Mind you, that is not a compliment.

I'd like to see them take "New Voyages" and "Starship Exeter" and put that on in place of "Hooking Up" or "Survivor"...

It's like orion said, some movies are so bad they're good. The time I was watching that one though, I just wasn't in the mood for camp. Maybe I'll give it another shot some other time. hehe

"When was Firefly on before?"

Two Years (or so) ago.

It was on Fox on Friday nights at 8PM at first , right before John Doe. They showed the show out of order and then kept pre-empting it for Baseball.

It died hard and fast, but check out at its ranking in DVD sales on Amazon.

Someone at FOX was an idiot.

It would be nice if SciFi did a mini-marathon with Trek eps and movies featuring Jimmy Doohan, in his memory...

The Scotty character was one that seemed to take awhile to warm up to, and I liked his portrayal more in the movies than the series.

MST3K (Mystery Science Theater 3000)was a show which showed bad "b" movies from a future movie theater perspective complete with a guy and 2 robots cracking bad jokes about the dialog, on screen mistakes, and pretty much any other off the wall idea which came to mind

...which ties into tonight's lineup in that Space Mutiny (starring Rip Hardslab!) used a heck of a lot of exterior shots from Battlestar Galactica.

What is also funny about Space Mutiny is:
1. The commander looked like Santa Clause
2. Somehow a warehouse was the interior of a spaceship.
3. Golf carts all souped up.
4. Of course the exterior was from the old Battlestar Galactica...

Firefly YEEEEES!

I thought that SG1 had lost its grip for me with the change of command, I actually forgot how much I liked Ben Browder.

Now I remember that I like him a lot, a lot, a lot. HEHEEE!

This week cyclons board the Galactica.

Good! So how long before the toasters wipe out the humans and end that horrible show?

"I'm more excited about the Firefly movie than I was about Star Wars.."

Ditto that

Same here. But is it really any wonder that we feel that way? Firefly created characters you could actually invest time in.

Well here are my thoughts:
1. SG1: So far so good.. Browder is doing a good job. So is Beau Bridges..

2. Atlantis: Good episode. I did like the Asgard swearing, however, I hope they don't make the Asgard comic relief.

3. Battlestar Galactica: Good Episode the scenes on the Battlestar was good, the scenes on Kobol was good. I like Starbuck, any chick who rides a Caprican Hummer is my kind of chick..

Someone at FOX was an idiot.

Ditto that. What sucks is that due to the nature of ad-funded TV, shows like Firefly that have a relatively small but devoted following will always lose to shows with broad but shallow appeal like "World's Funniest Bear Maulings". Each viewer effectively gets a single vote regardless of whether they really like the show or if there's just nothing else on. I'm hoping Internet-based video-on-demand systems can change this.
