Don't lament, Grasshopper. It will come with time.
My oldest son, who isn't 40 yet, has had the best BS detecting system I have seen and has had it since his 20s.
We both sense liberals very quickly, and he will often beat me. He is unusual.
His wife, our DIL, no longer argues with him or me when our liberal bs alarm goes off with some on tv, in print or in person.
'Tis a good skill your son has. I see where he got it :-)
