Spun Silly
By Howard Kurtz Washington Post Staff Writer Thursday, July 21, 2005; 8:39 AM
Did the Bush team put out misinformation on that crazy Tuesday to steer reporters away from John Roberts?
We can't answer the question definitively because the journalists involved have a Matt Cooper problem -- they promised their sources anonymity, regardless of motive. But I can tell you that some of them are ticked and feeling misled.
It all could be very innocent -- the typical Beltway gossip game where reporters trade information with supposedly wired sources who don't really know but like to give the impression that they do. Then the media types blurt what they've gleaned on television and online and -- d'oh ! -- look silly when they're wrong.
Why would the Bushies have bothered? The deafening buzz that the president had picked Edith Clement for the high court had a bunch of reporters preparing pieces on her instead of researching the legal record of the not-much-buzzed-about John Roberts. Plus, the head fake preserved the element of surprise for Bush's prime-time announcement.

Misled children. The horror !
It's nice to know that Bush and Rove are surepticiously giving it to the press for a change. They should keep putting out misinformation. It shows the American public just what idiotic lemmings they all are.
Don't look behind the curtain.
(syrupy violin music playing in the background...)
Snif... I trusted them... I'm hurt...
Maybe they should ask themselves if they deserved it. They have no problem asking if WE deserve terrorist attacks.
Reporters are a bunch of silly, empty headed, rude, ignorant assinine dopes!!!! Bush played them and they fell for it. Ha,ha,ha,ha. They deserve it all.
ROVE-A-DOPE!
Are you sure you don't have more to say???? LMAO I love it....keep going, don't stop now....give em hell....
These media types are such whores. If you go to one of the "blogs" mentioned you can read all about Kurtz's column.
The arrogance of these journalists is astonishing. It's a foregone conclusion that they hate the President and would (and do) jump on any story that has the most remote chance of damaging him politically. But let him do any little thing that offends them, and they're white hot with righteous rage. News flash for the MSM: GWB feels the same way about you guys!

Hey reporters! Tough tiddleywinks!
Bush sure had 'em scrambling in all the wrong directions. Absolutely beautiful!
They'll learn to not play Texas Holdem with a Texan.
Contrast this with the reporters gushing with awe when Clinton would use them for his own purpose.
A tip "O" the hat to President Bush. And a salute to Laura Bush ("I would really like him to name another woman," the first lady said during an interview with NBC's Today show from Cape Town, South Africa.) for her slight of hand also. ;).
I think Bush may have got a 'flush' with his pick of Roberts. The Dummies are 'flop'ping in all directions. And no one seems to be able to get Roberts stance 'straight'. I'd say a 'pair' of brilliant manuevers if you were to 'call' and ask me.
Federal election commission's gonna regulate your blog just because of this behavior. With good reason.
