Is a dog still a wolf?
We got every breed of dog from a Chihuahua to a Great Dane all from a wolf through selective breeding. Natural selection is just like selective breeding except there is only natural fitness rather than a human aesthetic or purpose that is being selected for.

Right now in New England they are finding Coyote's with large amounts of Wolf Genes as much as 70% in some cases. All Dog breeds including the Wolf can and do breed together. They are all the same species. Selective breeding has failed to produce a new species but variations in the same genetic population. We have failed to make a dog into anything other than a dog. The information already existed in the gene pool and was not created through selective breeding.

Hmmm... purpose you say?
Now tell us all: what would happen if all dogs were allowed to breed as they felt? Would we keep the same speication? Or would we achieve one Canine family?
