Wasn't aware of that, but it would certainly add credence to the fair use doctrine.

Yes. For example, on the front page of today's postings at that Leftist website, they feature a full-text article by David Ignatius. A casual reader would believe that David Ignatius is a local staff writer for The Lebanon Daily Star - in the Middle East.

In reality, David Ignatius is an associate editor of The Washington Post (which I'm pretty sure is affiliated with the same Washington Post which HATES the Free Republic "stealing" its articles by re-posting the full-text), and a member of the Washington Post Writers Group (ditto on the FR "stealing" thing).

Apparently, it's quite OK for the other side of the Internet political spectrum to "steal" articles from these touchy media giants. As a matter of fact, it's prolly "fair use", because, you know, they're on the same page as the Leftist attack dogs otherwise known as "journalists" employed by the hypocritical Leftist rags like LAT and WP. ;-)

Would seem so. I suppose of the many things just plain wrong about this particular fair use thing is the apparent precedent set when JR and FR capitulated(of necessity) to the fishwraps. Selective fair use??? An oxymoron if ever I saw one.
