The original Old Testament sex laws were given in an effort to discourage Baal worship. Baal worship included an annual fertility festival which was basically a week-long orgy.
HOWEVER...
This denomination (and all others if they are truthful) put as much weight on the traditional understanding of their faith as they do in the words of the Bible. This is part of the Anglican (and Methodist) basic teachings.
So, not only are these people overturning Bibilical teaching, the are also overturning 4000 years of understanding of the will of God.
