Seriously, I heard that also. I believe the wording was "the same time the brush was "returned."

I think what you saw was Beth saying the hairbrush was returned to her at around the same time the duct-tape and hairs showed up. I got the impression she had given it to (what passes for) LE in case DNA was needed.
