Well, I agree with your sentiment, but respectfully disagree about the "millions." The 2008 election, like the previous 54 or 55 or so (excluding Duh Dole's 1996 nomination fix) and like the elections in 2024 or 2048, will be "the most important election of our lifetime." Any excuse for the principle-be-damned crowd to rationalize one more vote.

Karl Rove, correctly, estimated that four million conservative Christians stayed home in 2000. He was dedicated to motivating those Christians to vote in 2004. I'd say he succeeded.

The Republicans are going to lose more than the four million-plus they gained and then some if Bush breaks his word on this.
