THE ISSUE: A law banning inquiries about the immigration status of New York City street vendors.
*****
Mayor Bloomberg has betrayed all the legal residents of New York City citizens and legal immigrants alike by signing a bill allowing illegal aliens to obtain street-vending licenses ("Council OKs Cindy's Pet Project, June 24). Too many politicians act as if New York City is obliged to make it easier for foreigners to violate America's immigration laws. This misguided bill spares would-be vendors the inconvenience of being asked whether they actually have a legal right to work in the U.S. We already have a national-security problem directly connected to our epidemic of illegal immigration. Bloomberg, who signed this law with great fanfare, should be working on ways to provide fewer incentives to break our immigration laws, not more. George Mole The Bronx

Illegal immigration should be prosecuted on more levels than just as a federal crime. Since illegal aliens threaten state and local economies, those jurisdictions should have the authority to enforce the law as they see fit. James McCaffrey Brooklyn

I am amazed at how uninformed Americans are of the negative effects that undocumented and illegal aliens have. Unregulated immigration costs taxpayers in educational funding. It overburdens hospitals, denying citizens life-saving healthcare. It overcrowds neighborhoods, lowering property values and quality of life standards. Until these illegal invaders are treated as lawbreakers, this serious problem will only perpetuate itself. Greg Horak Hicksville

We should consider the poem on the Statue of Liberty that describes immigrants as the "wretched refuse" of the countries they came from. Descendants of those legal immigrants, who sacrificed to achieve the American dream, must cringe at the rights that are thrown at illegal aliens today. Patricia Elkins Hollywood, Fla.

Well, to put this bluntly, what you've written about is paranoia, through a paranoid perspective on top of that.
I disagree with you as to the doom and gloom and "master plan" aspects...good luck, there, with all those fears.
Half a century, fifty (50) years is old in my book. LOL I passed that marker quite a while ago.
There was a long front-page story in The Star-Ledger newspaper illustrating how illegal immigrants are unwilling to help police solve crimes because they're afraid to be deported. The police in New Jersey are going to great lengths to work with illegal immigrants to tell them they have nothing to fear from local police in terms of their status in this country.
God only knows what they keep to themselves about America-haters in their midst due to a distorted sense of allegiance. If they're not falling all over each other to extend us assistance, why do we tolerate them? Perhaps we need a "credit system" where reporting criminal activity being committed by fellow illegals will facilitate their legal immigration in the future.
Why are we treating these brazen criminals with kid gloves? They're more than welcomed to come here via legal channels...if found here illegally they should be loaded onto no-frills barges and shipped within forty-eight hours. This gunless and troopless invasion will be the death of our American society.

Go to Phillys Schafley's website and read the story about what the CFR has in store for you. I don't fault you for believing I am paronoid, just see me in 5 years and tell me what you think.
Next time if you don't want the truth, don't ask the question "Why".
Would you like some tuberculosis with that taco?
If you want to be really scared go to the forbidden website (forbidden by FR) and read Frosty Wooldridge's latest comments. Heh Heh
That will be turbo-charged by Affirmative Action, which requires proportional hiring of everyone except Caucasians. They won't even have to be wearing those cute little blue berets.
Protect our borders and coastlines from all foreign invaders!

Some people on FR think I am paranoid. I thought I was a heterosexual. Oh well, to each his own sexual preference, I guess.
Who would have thought in 1966 the United States would be invaded (and defeated) by an invasion from Mexico?
This is starting to bust me up! - reminds me of "Get Smart" t.v. series . .
LOL, I like it!!
Once again...EXCELLENT!
This one is to the point,
and the absolute truth.
Thank you!
