I still say the Democrats have three choices: be honest about their agenda and lose, because America doesn't want it. Maybe someday the Democrats will have a different message, or America will cahnge its mind. Not likely, though. Or they could try to be "me-too Republicans" and lose, because they appear insincere and CHARACTER MATTERS. We don't know what will happen during someone's term and we want a good, honest person to deal with the unexpected. Position papers can't possibly cover everything.
Track three is what the Democrats are doing now: hoping the Republicans stumble or are snookered (the Republicans at times really give the Dems a lot of help on this score), or try for a scandal.
It does not serve our country well.
You are right. The Democrats are certainly not doing much for the country. They obstruct any steps forward for fear the Republicans will gain. They only know how to attack in gang warfare but are cowards when they fight alone. They have become the ugly Americans. The Republicans need to expose the truth about them, hopefully they will get the message they cannot win elections with obstruction and criticism. The Democrats must present new ideas for the future if they ever plan to win back power.
