The following was in the Washington Post on Sunday about a controversial real estate deal tied to Democratic congressman James P. Moran, Jr.
Estes and the co-operative's board of directors rejected offers of help from the city and a nonprofit developer and, with Chestnut's guidance, assembled a group of politically connected partners that includes several former Washington Redskins, the wife of U.S. Rep. James P. Moran Jr. (D-Va.) and KSI Services Inc., one of the region's largest developers. The team persuaded HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson to give Sursum Corda another chance, halted a mass eviction threatened for June 15 and is spending at least $1.1 million to ready the property for a last-ditch inspection that could end the threat of foreclosure.
As a resident of Moran's 8th District I am asking Free Republic readers to please see if their congressman will do something to halt this conflict-of-interest real estate deal. It cannot be ethical that Mrs. Moran's partners lobby HUD for favorable decisions on HUD properties that she and her partners seek to develop at the same time as her husband Jim Moran is a congressman. If you do not live in the 8th please consider asking your congressman to intervene in the redevelopment of the Sursum Corda property in order to resolve the conflict of interest posed by Luann's partners' lobbying.
If you get a response from your congressman please consider posting a message and letting the readers of GoodbyeJim.com know about it. GoodbyeJim's readers are primarily disillusioned Democrats but we are every bit as against Jim Moran as you are. Let us work together for a common purpose to embarrass Moran and his enablers and force a regime change here in the 8th.

Sorry, but I don't imagine any Member will ever say anything. Democrats never attack one of their own and Republicans are too chicken to say anything.
They ran Duke Cunningham out over far less.

No amount of pig vomit from this clown is enough to discourage the majority of voters in his District from keeping him in his seat.
