I was looking at the WBAP website, and noticed that, on their job board, they are advertising for a talk show host, 6 pm - 9 pm.
WBAP is the 50,000 watt Dallas/Ft. Worth AM station which hosts Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Paul Harvey, Jerry Doyle, and was where Mike Gallagher worked when he was just a local talk show host.
Here's the direct link:

Didnt that used to be Gregg Knapp?
I'd love to do it, but I don't think I have the "cred" to carry such a large audience.
Greg Knapp is on KLIF...I think it's Gary McNamara's time slot.
???
Your right. Wonder where Gary's going. I dont listen at that time. My husband listens to Savage.
I don't know where Gary's going, but I know there are some FReepers with experience with web broadcasting, and no telling who knows who and can put them in touch with WBAP. I know there is a lot of talent on this forum.
And Gary McNamara wasn't always a talk show host, and neither was Savage.
Hopefully some qualified FReeper will see this.
P.S. I listen to Savage also (guilty pleasure)...I think he is full of hooey more than half the time, but it is GREAT radio IMHO. :-)
Any conservative person they pulled off the street would have more cred than all the clowns on Air Amerika put together.
Are you in Dallas? We'll do it. Whadya say. Tag team, ha. Ive always wanted to be on radio. Is there sidekick team conservatives on air that you know of?
Maybe, but the audience for this station is huge (they are located in Arlington, near Ft Worth, yet their daytime range reaches all the way to Tyler 200 miles to the east, or further. They probably have a potential audience of millions). I have some experience on the air, technically, though it was over 15 years ago, was donated air time on a tiny AM station with maybe 2000 listeners on a good day, and our timeslot was early Sunday morning. I think the show I was part of had maybe 500 listeners tops. I also have a modicum of conservative cred, mostly thanks to this site, and I am technical enough to run a radio board. That having been said, I don't know that I could justify getting hired.
That having been said, if any WBAP personnel are reading this, and think I might have a chance, I'll send a resume.
I love WBAP. Even though I live in Memphis, Tenn., after dark they come in loud and clear, unlike our local station.
The midnight show has a new co-host as well.
The midnight show on WBAP is a conservative co-host show.

What about David Gold?
"Your right. Wonder where Gary's going. I dont listen at that time. My husband listens to Savage."
I enjoyed listening to GM. Hope he's going national. In his place, I vote for Tammy Bruce.
"Maybe I can be a talk show host, huh?"
You should send your resume. The worst they can say is no :)

I've spent a lot of time in Memphis, and also listened to WBAP at night. You can also hear the Nashville station (WLAC, I think) that carries Mark Christopher. I also like listening to him.
They don't do the trucker show any more at midnight?
My take is that WBAP only wants "conservative-lite" for their talkshow hosts......anyone who really wanted to hit illegal immigration hard with info on their taxpayer provided welfare style benefits, employers evading taxes, phony ID factories, theft and drug rings, etc. would have their chained pulled so fast by mgt. that it wouldn't be funny. Hell, it's so bad now the news shows are deathly afraid to mention that the latest murderer, rapist or the cause of a huge car crash is Hispanic.
