Thanks for the highly relevant LINK which I had previously also Pinged (& which I alluded to in the "Sources" for this Post) with my own anecdotal story, and which tends to verify or lend plausibility to a pattern of blabbing, (if not BRAGGING!) -- by Joe Wilson himself, -- to writers and reoporters both left and right about Valerie Plame's CIA status.

The MSM is avoiding dwelling on Wilson/Plames' blabbing her status with the CIA to every Tom, Dick, and Harry in the Beltway.
That she has new twin daughters, and may have wanted to spend time with them hasn't been put into the equasion.
Maybe she'd get a better retirement package or book deal if she and Wilson "outed" her, but set things up so that the "outing" seemed to have come from the White House during an election campaign?
I have spent sooo much time reading sources on this, but since I am not at home, have not saved any of, except in my own memory, but I could not make this stuff up. My imagination is not that good. My husband has always told me that I should try writing a book, well I think Joe Wilson and Valerie Plame would provide a good story line.
Not intriguing. not just plausible. Who was Valerie Plame? A leader in the CIA? In a control position. A shoe saleswoman? You are welcome.
Could minor Ambassador Joe Wilson himself have been the source in blowing his own Wife's "cover" (even if she had not been a covert CIA agent at the time of the alleged "leaks")?
It is distinctly possible, (though it may be unlikely that Joe Wilson himself directly was NY Times Judith Miller's source), since Joe Wilson himself evidently routinely bragged openly to strangers about her CIA employment, prior to such "cover" being "blown" in the press.
Here's an example of Joe's apparently routine and open bragging about Valerie being a "CIA agent," which became known directly to me over a year ago:
He certainly bragged about it per a famous and highly reliable source's (named below) account of his own face-to-face encounter with Amb. Joe Wilson prior to Valerie Plame's "outing" as a CIA agent/employee.
Based upon a personal conversation (we were in a small group eating; it was NOT an "off the record") I had with eminent historian Victor Davis Hanson (we were at a luncheon table together during a trip to Europe), it appeared entirely possible that Joe Wilson himself was the (or one source, if not the original one) possible source in revealing his own wife's status as a CIA agent or employee.
Victor Davis Hanson (Wilson presumably knew Victor Davis Hanson wrote regularly for NRO (National Review Online), had done OpEds for the Wall street Journal, and other publications, and had his own Website with a widespread following) said he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were both in the same "Green Room" before a televised debate-discussion on Iraq, etc. and Joe first warned the TV make-up person not to get powder on his $14,000 Rolex watch, then he bragged to Victor about several things (possessions and trips to Aspen, etc.), like his expensive car (I think it was a Mercedes), and then bragged about his beautiful ("hot") wife who, Joe Wilson said (braggingly) was a CIA operative.
I asked Victor Davis Hanson Why he didn't write up this account.(?) He replied that Joe Wilson would probably simply deny it, since only he (VDH) & Joe Wilson were in the Green Room together before the broadcast.
However, it is now easy to surmise that Joe Wilson is a crass, materialistic, self-promoting, vain, egotistical, bragaddocio-opportunist, so this account is perfectly consistent with Valerie Plame's TWO photo shoots in Vanity Fair.
She was nobody, by strictest standards. A "has been".

When did the Green Room conversaton take place? Some months Prior to Valerie Plame's being revealed as a CIA employee by any public source, as it was described to me... I heard it only a little over a year ago, after that event.
(One can check when they were both on TV at the same time & place,or one can check with one or both of the men themselves; Joe woudl, as Victor said, most likely DENY (lie) that he (Joe Wilson) blabbed about Valerie's CIA status.)

They're like that:
They tend to ignore (suppress/ &/or spin) facts or stories that are counter to their world view, best friends, or ideological viewpoint.
I won't argue with your description, which is based upon knowledge probably far beyond my own re:
Her having been a "has been." (Or a "nobody.")
I just don't know one way or the other, personally.

If someone is a target of a GJ investigation, they receive a letter to that effect.
The recipients are not required to testify , but, some do anyway, in an attempt to clear their name.
My legal friends advise me that this is usually a misguided mistake.
Karl Rove's lawyer has stated that his client has not received any letter and has been assured by the Special Prosecutor, that Rove is not a target of their investigation.
That can change depending on what is revealed in GJ testimony, but, as of last week, according to Rove's lawyer, KR is not a target.
If Wilson has not testified-one has to ask- is it because the prosecutor does not believe he can add anything to the investigation or because he is a target ?
I can't believe that Wilson has nothing to add to the investigation.
So,either Wilson has already testified and kept his mouth shut ( a first ) ,
he hasn't been summoned because the SP believes that Wilson could add nothing to the investigation or Wilson is a target.
Don't hold your breathe waiting for the fossil media to ask Wilson any of these questions.
You bet they would make a "good story," as would the Rock Creek, Judith Miller, Muslim-forewarning, et al. connection.
But they're (Joe & Valerie) the main ones' capitalizing on their own story:
Books,interviews, press confrerences with Senators, being Kerry's Advisor on WMD & Foreign Policy, TV interviews, cocktail party circuit lionizing, free dinners, TWO Vanity Photo Shoots in Vanity Fair magazine, etc. (Joe & Valerie)

I won;t hold my breath for Wilson being summoned by the GJ, though, as you suggested I not do so.

I just posted a comment on the Just One Minute Timeline, that he left out the fact that the Wilson/yellocake/ CIA agent wife story had no legs until after Joe Wilson met with Chris Lehane in May of that year, and Lehane started shopping the story to the media. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out that Lehane was one of the sources.
