so, given that the illegals are here, it makes sense to integrate them

They are not being integrated, that is not the plan. If they were to be assimilated they would become citizens legally and respect our system of government and maybe have some loyalty to the founders and their ideals.

But "open border" "free traders" have a different plan. They want the individuals to stay illegal. They are harvesting the wealth of the United States, and sending it back to Mexico via remittances and social security. This money has become a significant portion of Mexcio's GDP and so they never never want it cut off. But I think you know that already.

When people disingenously say, let them stay, we'll make money off them, they are lying, IMO, unless they are one of the annointed transnationals or one of the unscrupulous businessment undercutting US wages or even one of the newly minted slum lords housing 64 people to one single-family home. The transnational corporations are making billions of dollars on the remittance money. The citizen is stuck with a huge tax bill to support them. When the unassimilated illegal sells his house and goes home to retire, he will have milked the system quite nicely and will have a much higher standard of living in his counterpart US citizens whose government bankrupted socialistic social security program will be paying premiums down in Mexico at a much higher rate than the illegals contributed in the first place.

Employers hiring, harboring, or aiding illegal aliens are breaking federal law and robbing Americans of billions in tax revenue each year.
