London bomber's uncle defends nephew's 'sacrifice': report
(Updated at 2110 PST)
LONDON: The uncle of Shahzad Tanweer, one of the four London bomb suspects, has defended his nephew's actions as a desperate "sacrifice" in an interview with the British tabloid newspaper.

"These suicide bombers are desperate people," Bashir Ahmed told the Sunday paper. "They are not getting their rights. They can see that their brothers are not getting their rights, so they take extreme action."

"This lad has made a name for himself in the world. Muslims call it a sacrifice, the Europeans call him a terrorist," he was quoted as saying.

Tanweer's uncle laid the blame for the rush-hour attacks on London's transport network at the feet of British Prime Minister Tony Blair and US President George W. Bush, warning, "There will be more".

Citing US policy in Iraq and the Middle East, as well as its treatment of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba, Ahmed told the paper that Western disregard for the rights of Muslims was driving young men to violence.

"Britain and America are saying that they will defeat terrorism. I am saying that terrorism can be finished in one second," he said. "Why can't Blair and Bush apologise for the way they have abused the human rights of Muslims. They should apologise. They should stop these injustices."

The families of suspected bombers Hasib Hussain, Mohammad Sidique Khan and Germaine Lindsay have all released statements condemning the July 7 bombings in London that left 55 people dead and 700 injured.

It would be a cold day in hell before I'd apologize to these thugs. Not happy in London...then go HOME!

Thank you US and British media! You want to get rid of terrorism? Get rid of the "journalists" who are driving the story that we are torturing and slaughtering innocent Muslims. TELL THE TRUTH YOU LOW LIFE SCUM!

I have been absolutely furious ever since the London bombing because we have been saying for a long time that their little game playing was dangerous. Westerners know it's only politics, but the Muslims both in the middle east and in the west are buying into their crap and this is the result. Innocent people die and will continue to die because the media is too stupid to figure out what they are doing.

"US Muslims fear the enemy within after London attacks"

What in the world is there about liberal-left Democrats that Muslims have to fear?

Thank you, Dick Durbin and the Dems.

BTW, wasn't at least one of those bombings, Edgeware Road, in a area with a lot of this guy's fellow Muslims in it? Or are we supposed to believe junior quizzed all his fellow passengers to ensure there were no Muslims on board before the bomb exploded?

The enemy within names its demands!

" Citing US policy in Iraq and the Middle East, as well as its treatment of detainees at the Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba, Ahmed told the paper that Western disregard for the rights of Muslims was driving young men to violence. "Britain and America are saying that they will defeat terrorism. I am saying that terrorism can be finished in one second," he said. "Why can't Blair and Bush apologise for the way they have abused the human rights of Muslims. They should apologise. They should stop these injustices.""

So, to stop more terrorism, do nothing to harm the terrorists and apologize to them ... classic blackmail threat.

I agree. The mask of "moderate" Islam is coming off.

Is he glad that his nephew was tricked into becoming a suicide bomber, as another story here is starting to indicate?

A free flight to any point of his choice in the middle east. And then a little push from 35,000 feet.

Oh yes, by all means call it as it is. The world of Islam backs these people.

So, if a Pak immigrant family can't get what they perceive to be their "rights" from their new host country, I'd say they need to go back where they came from.

"Why can't Blair and Bush apologise for the way they have abused the human rights of Muslims. They should apologise. They should stop these injustices."

You know, I've been watching various grievance groups cry victim now since the seventies. Women, gays, ethnic and religious minorities, even the "men's lib" movement for a while.

But we didn't know what opportunistic victimhood was until we watched the Arabs do it.

It's bad watching Arabic people destroy themselves. It's tragic when they decide they need to take as many non-Arabs as they can with them on the way out. But, honestly, all this agonized squealing about being victimized is adding insult to injury, and I'm fed up listening to it.
