Yes. It sounds like one of those details that people add to make their lies seem truthful. It was part of a long explanation about how they love the house but Valerie was reluctant to buy it and he had to get his brother, who os a realtor, to convince her that because of high rent in the DC area it was cheaper to buy the house.

Now why was that even in the interview? Why include such details. Have you ever heard anyone in a magazine interview justify the purchase of their house? Oh, and at the time of the interview they were remodelling the kitchen, which is the MOST expensive home improvement other than adding a pool.
