"Councilwoman Stacey Jo Murphy, 47, was arrested Wednesday night at her home, where law enforcement agents served a federal search warrant, police said. She posted $100,000 bail and was released from jail Thursday. A phone call left for Murphy at her office Thursday was not immediately returned.

Also arrested was Murphy's longtime companion Scott Schaffer, 51, for investigation of federal firearms and narcotic violations. Robert Polloreno, 54, who lives with Schaffer, was arrested for alleged grand theft of a firearm..."

So let me get this straight: Mr Schaffer is Miss Murphy's "longtime companion." Mr Schaffer lives with Mr Polloreno. So do they all live together?

It's California.

So long as farm animals aren't involved, it's cool.

The two men lived in Glendale, Stacy Murphy dated Schaeffer, and apparently from what I've read on the other post he got her a job at CITY CAB, sun Valley as a controller (where he was part owner.)

The upside of this sordid mess is that my bookie told me all involved were hard-core Democrats.

By my calculations, we have taken three of these potential Dem voters off the street in one swoop.

Well Done to the Law Enforcers here. Keep up the great work. Only 7.5 Million of these creatures to go in LALA Land.

Councilwoman Stacey Jo Murphy, 47, was arrested late last night at her home, where authorities served a federal search warrant, said Burbank police Sgt. Jay Jette.

Earlier Wednesday, her "longtime companion," Scott Schaffer, 51, was arrested for federal firearms and narcotic violations, during a search of his Glendale home, Jette said.

According to the city of Burbank Web site, Murphy has three children, ages 18, 16 and 10. She has been on the Burbank council since 1997, serving as mayor in 1999-2000 and in 2003-04, and was re-elected earlier this year to another four-year term.

I figured they were Dims, otherwise the article would have said REPUBLICAN Councilwoman or Burbank Councilman, a Republican......
The MSM never (rarely) says that any elected official in hotwater is a (D)but always seem to if it's a Pubbie.

The organization allegedly forged a treaty with the Mexican Mafia prison gang under which it agreed to pay taxes on its drug profits

Man, I would like some further details on this.

Valley Boyz gang out of the Sun Valley area. David Garcia of that gang shot and killed Burbank police officer Matthew Pavelka and critically injured another officer, fled to Mexico where he was returned and awaits trial for murder. A gun registered to Stacey's long time companion was discovered in the hands of a member of this gang. There is more information at the link in my earlier post.

He OWNED City Cab and let the Vineland Boyz use the cabs to deliver drugs and money.

There are about six threads on this arrest....have you been out of town?

Stacey Murphy was charged Monday with those two charges she was arrested for. KFI quoted someone stating three years in prison were the max sentence.

I don't know why they waited, other than trying to get her to plead to something less? The arraignment is tomorrow.
