But, according to the Washington Times, Clinton and her fellow New York Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer turned thumbs down on two amendments to a Department of Homeland Security spending bill, which would have funded 2,000 new Border Patrol agents and more than 5,000 new detention beds to house illegal aliens.Yet Senator Clinton and her comrades voted against border security enhancements, once again displaying her propensity for double-speak.
Is the other thing in that picture Lynne Stewart? Has she gone to jail yet?

SA 1219. Mr. ENSIGN (for himself, Mr. MCCAIN, and Mr. GRAHAM) proposed an amendment to amendment SA 1124 proposed by Mr. ENSIGN to the bill H.R. 2360, making appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2006, and for other purposes; as follows:
Strike all after the first word and insert the following: page 77, line 20, insert ``of which $367,551,000 may be transferred to Customs and Border Protection for hiring an additional 1,000 border agents and for other necessary support activities for such agency; and'' after ``local grants,''.
Sen. Ensign's comments on the floor regarding his proposed amendment from the Senate Journal....
The amendment (No. 1124), as modified, is as follows:
On page 77, line 20, insert ``of which $367,552,000 may be transferred to Customs and Border Protection for hiring an additional 1,000 border agents and for other necessary support activities for such agency; and'' after ``local grants,''.
Mr. ENSIGN. Mr. President; last year when the Senate was considering the national intelligence reform bill, we adopted several recommendations of the 9/11 Commission.
One of those recommendations was to hire an additional 2,000 new custom and border protection agents each year for the next 5 years.
This body agreed with the recommendation. We agreed that our national security depended on such an investment, and we enacted that recommendation into law.
We are now considering the Homeland Security appropriations bill. The bill that was reported out of committee includes funding for 1,000 new agents in the coming fiscal year. I understand there are problems with training 2,000 agents.
My amendment as modified would provide the Secretary of Homeland Security with the discretion to shift $367 million to hire 2,000 new agents next year. This amendment is fully offset. I rise today to urge the Senate to adopt my amendment so that we can keep the commitment that we made to the American people last year. I thank JOHN MCCAIN for cosponsoring our amendment. N.Y. Times Alters Hillary Clinton's Immigration Quote

In keeping step with placing skepticism on the media, the New York Times misquoted Hillary Rodham Clinton's statement. The original quote was made on Feb. 11, 2003 Hillary's quote was to WABC Radio's John Gambling. It's been brought to the forefront by NewsMax, who reported only an hour after the broadcast her actual statement.
"I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigration." The truth is, her actual statement was "I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants"
The problem here is that the first quote means she's against the criminal activity of illegally immigration. What she actually said means she's adamantly against the immigrants themselves. Since she never corrected herself, we can only take her at the words she spoke.
This comes across as another in a laundry list of inappropriate statements Hillary has made. The list seems to be growing at a very substantial rate. It's a clear indication of the difference in being a Junior Senator in New York, and the amount of scrutiny that comes with running for president.
Where the problem lies is that all the other media outlets picked up the Times quote. For some reason nobody bothered to research this and listen for themselves. What does that say?
